best method for preparing an existing tiled floor
hi got a job to look at on friday.the customer says he has an existing tiled floor and wants it removed and a new tiled floor layed.really wondering what is the best way forward to remove the old tiles ie do i smash a tile and work out from that but with what.also how do you guys remove the old adhesive afterwards (cement based of course)also to give you a good level floor is self levelling recommended.your opinions plz .thx for your input Lee

Re: best method for preparing an existing tiled floor
I use a sds paid £150 for bocsh but there are cheaper about, screwfix for instance all depends your money situation. Break a tile out and start from the door way, watch any units where your working just in case a piece of tile takes off and causes damage. Slc, If the floor is that bad then yes a self leveler should be applied

Good for taking existing plaster off the wall, The sds is,nt an aggresive breaker but good for lighter work

Re: best method for preparing an existing tiled floor
i just use a bolster and hammer for wall tiles as sds may well be a bit heavy destroying board/plaster
