A gundlach scraper is spot on for walls......as for floors then just remove as much as you can and use a suitable leveller......

Or do what I did yesterday...
I found that the tiles were stuck onto bare plasterboard and so removing them was ripping holes in the board. Only using a thin scraper and a lot of patience could I have removed the tiles so instead...

Smashed the heck out of the tiles all round the edges of the boards and then using a board saw, cut and ripped the boards clean off, complete with the tiles. All in all it took no more than an hour to rip out an re-board with lovely new boards ready for tiling.

(I hate removing tiles - full stop!)

I hear; I forget
I see; I remember
I do; and I understand.

No I used handiboards as I only have a berlingo van.
If the customer wanted a decorated top half then it would have to be skimmed by a plasterer.

It's not really too scary - sounds and looks a lot worse than it is, but once all boards are ripped off and the studwork is exposed, it's really easy to make good.
