    Default finish the sentence....!

trying to sort my terms and condiditons for a job i've got coming up...house fairly modern kitchen floor 26m2 current floor covering carpet, vinyl and tiles...these will be removed by myself also 2 bathrooms currently with vinyl floors all have concrete underneath...i've put a quote together for tiling but need to put in a note to cover myself for any additional preparational work that may need to be done before i start laying...problem is not sure what i could come up against.

thought something along the lines of...

After removal of floor covering the floor may need further preparation before tiling e.g. levelling, boarding over ? ? any others ? ?
these prices assume that further preparation will not be required. However it is impossible to guarantee this and you should allow a contingency for this.

    Thanks

Hi SWE thats all good m8 thanks sort of thing i'd put on the back of the quote...i also try to keep the customer informed as i go along so if i've stated removing tiles on the quote under (removing existing tiles) i'll write a little note similar to yours (wall may need to be replastered at additional cost blah blah blah)...

problem is if you just stick all those t&cs at the end customer never reads them and when you do have to replaster the wall after removing tiles then refer them to the small t&cs on the back of the quote they get seriously ****ed off...business lost.

The text you are putting in the estimate is not really terms and conditions, it is part of the estimating procedure. terms and conditions usually go along the lines of how you will do the work, how and when you expect to be paid and what guarantee you will provide, which country has precedence for legalites and the like.

When I send my estimates I always have stapled to the back of it my Terms and Conditions of Sale so if they don't read it that is their problem. My estimate states I will provide my service within my terms and conditions only.

The second part of sWe's post is more terms and conditions, his estimate part was the first bit. Have I got my T&Cs on here?
