Default New member needs help

I am new to this site and need some help from professional floor tilers.

How much could i expect to pay (a rough estimate) to have 60 square metres of ceramic floor tiling done in a restaurant in South East London. The tiles will be supplied but not the tile adhesive, spacers or grout. The tiles are 300 x 300mm in size and only need to be laid in a standard pattern rather than anything fancy. The floor of the restaurant is concrete but is currently carpeted so the carpet will need to be removed first and disposed of.

The work needs to be done as quickly as possible, how long do you think the work will take and how long will the restaurant need to be closed for?
Please give me a rough idea of the cost and how long the work will take.
Thanks
Jon.

A ROUGH Estimate based on a m2 price of between £25 and £30 per m2 including addy and grout will put you back around £2000 i take it the tiles are porcelaine. And should take a tiler and mate around four days.. hope it helps.. If they are ceramic you might get a local fixer to do it for around 1500 thats about £20 m2 plus addy and grout plus removal of carpet..imo

The best thing for you to do is get a few tilers from around your area to come in and give you an estimate.

TO ask on here will be a little hit and miss as different areas of the country command different rates and also tilers with a big reputation will charge a higher price.

Smurf quoted you a meter rate above including adhesive and stuff. If I had responded with actual figures my materials would have been extra!

What may seem straight forward to a customer may in fact have some issues that you are not aware of that needs dealing with. Get some peeps in to estimate for you properly.

Yes my tilers will always quote around the £25 psm rate over the phone for large jobs. (IE anything over 35 square meters)

And / or £200 a day as a day rate for small jobs. Half day jobs are £130.

So he would give a ball park on the phone based on meterage at the £25 then go and look at the work.

In london he asks for congestion and parking charges on top.

depends where you are in the country i would say 25 per m2 inc materials plus a day rate for the capret removal and any other prep work

my advise is get a few quotes first if you dont how much your paying dont nesserciarly go for the cheapest quote as my saying goes

PAY PEANUTS YOU GET MONKEYS

GOOD LUCK
