In Lay Tiling Tray?
Hi would like some Advice on what to do on a floor tiling job?
im laying a tiled floor on concreate and within the extension of the house there is a man hole (27" by 17") in the kitchen and the customer needs access to it. within the manhole there is already a concreate base in the original man hole, is there a man hole in lay i can buy just to sit on top of the existing man hole?????
if so how much are they and where would i get one from? i live in SUNDERLAND
Regards
Shylo

Re: In Lay Tiling Tray?
I think you will have take out the existing manhole cover and replace with an inset then bring to level for tiles and adhesive thickness

Re: In Lay Tiling Tray?
Hi Dave CJ, its a concreate lid and its dead level with the existing concreate floor around it.
so could i buy another man hole in lay lid just to lay across the original man hole.

Re: In Lay Tiling Tray?
No, The point of a manhole cover is to stop odour leaking out, Which means it's air tight so just putting another lid on would'nt work

Re: In Lay Tiling Tray?
Its not much of a job to get the right rebated manhole cover/lid......and remove the old one and re-set new

Re: In Lay Tiling Tray?
It can be done..you just need to use the in-lay frame and lid....as seen in CJ's photo...
You will be able to bed this over the opening on the old manhole but you need to make sure it is well sealed and then screed up to the height......but to be honest i think to make a quicker job you will be better removing the old manhole and bed a new one in place then you can work off the old floor height.....
