Default Limestone around a basin...some advice please.

Hello all,

I've nearly finished installing my limestone tiles in the bathroom...just need to grout and then seal etc.

What I have done is just tile around the bath and the associated wall due to the bath shower, however I'm not sure what tiles to install above the basin. The limestone I have is 18 inches x 12 inches however putting these above the basin will be too big.

My thoughts were to use the left over waste limestone and either make small mosaic tiles or make a smaller version of the large tiles, say 2 inches x 3 inches. The latter would probaby look better (also using smaller spacers so they are in proportion)?

What are peoples thoughts out there?

Cheers

Rob

You could do some bespoke work like you have mentioned by cutting your existing tiles or you could look for some other tiles (mosaics) that would compliment the limestone.

Take one of your tiles put it on the wet cutter and adjust the blade to drop into the tile 3mm and scribe the tile eg criss cross or chequered so it looks like mosaic but without the fiddling around.

Just a thought

It is a good idea however I can't adjust the blade (I have a cheap 'n' cheerful Plasplugs cutter) unless I put a smaller one on. The other thing is I've run out of full tiles so I'd have to use the off-cuts anyway. It could work but by the time I've changed the blade etc. I would have cut the tiles by then.

If the worst happens I will just drive to Monmoth and buy a couple more tiles!
