as long as you use plenty of soapy water from a spray bottle and have loads of paper towels handy I think they are okay. Can't be any worse tham a finger, lollypop stick or a pen top
I got one a few years ago and has its uses - i still use it from time to time and find the silicone removal tool good when ripping out old bathroom suites - safer on the fingers than a fresh stanley blade as a few of the members will testify to
