If thay`ve been bonded and then a finish coat over the top then 4 weeks. If just a skim coat then personally i would be happy after a week and yes prime with something like Bal APD

I would recommend that you leave new plaster at least 4 weeks to dry out properly through normal exposure to air.

Then once dry give it a brush down with a stiff brush, or rub it over with sandpaper to break the smooth surface.

Then prime it with a suitable primer (not PVA) something like Bal APD, used as per the manufacturers instructions.

Dont be tempted to tile before it's dryed out properly, patience it the key here.

when you say plastered do you mean...

skimmed or floated out in a backing plaster because the drying time will also be effected by the thickness of the plaster?? 4 weeks in the standard practice so allow at the minimum of 2 weeks if at around 10-12mm this time of year..but if you wont to play it by the book and i suppose you should really, then 4 weeks and cover yourself.
