Limestone Tiles
Hi I recently tried to cut limestone tiles with my plasplugs - it chipped them. Now I need to get one edge honed and the 2 tiles cut for me. Does anyone know anyone near Bolton that could do this for me. Also need to know what model of wet cutter I should look to purchase that could cut limestone without damage. I had a marcist diamond blade in my plasplugs. Any advice appreciated.
Best Wishes
Howard

From what I have found in the IT I think this company can help
Bolton Granite Co Ltd | Granite Worktop - Natural Stone In Your Home

Re: Limestone Tiles
The marcrist blade can cause chipping....you will be better using a continuous rim cutting wheel...

Hi Howard, i cut 20mm thick Jura limestone on my Norton Clipper TT200EM and it was fine. Just remember to cut slowly and ensure there is loads of water on the blade

No matter what they are made of !

Richard,
I like your drills so don't take this the wrong way. I have drilled a lot of stone but sometimes Natural stone presents problems when drilling and i think in all honesty that is what Wetdec was referring to. This is down to the make up of the stone. Some limestone such as Jura can drill really well but others have inherent problems. It only takes a crevice or hole to be on a weak point and the tile can split no matter how good the drill. So a statement "no matter what they are made of " is a bit blase to say the least IMO. The same applies to Marble when cutting. You can have the best cutting wheel in the world but if you attempt to cut through a vein sometimes it splits. Thats all i am trying to point out.
