Re: need help around windows
The main reason for this is that the walls are mostly all over the place around windows, so normally need a little jigging about or some good prep work beforehand to level the walls off, window reveals can be tricky, i effing hate them!

Re: need help around windows
centre the window check the reveals are straight if not cut the tiles all the same from the furtherest point so when you put them up you create a straight reveal because if you don't and cut on the pee when you put your trim on it will pick it up and it will look awful then back fill so the inside of the reveal becomes level with the tile best to leave over night to set depending on how much filling needs to be done it work's everytime can be a bit of a pain to do but it show's in the finish let me know how you get on good luck

You certainly are mate, I always charge for drilling, even more so if it is stone as those diamond drill bits are pricey to be replacing every month or so, not to mention the extra time it takes.

Re: need help around windows
Would not at all batten down at all it all gets confusing.Just centre up window make sure you get good cuts either side of lower corners and top corner.keep a good level line up important.tile up sides making sure you stay square in window frame all around as when using beading you are going to have gaps otherwise. This is wher your attention to being level comes in.if you done your homework your last tile around window should meet leaving you a grout joint. If it is out be sure to tease the tiles (open or close the grout joints to get get it all perfect. If tiling near a shower window remember to angle to tiles slightly to give the window reveal a run off for the water
