#1 | | Tilers Forums Arms Member | The Tile & Stone Show | | I've just come back off holiday to find my ticket in the post for The Tile & Stone Show and I need to know is it going to be worthwhile attending?
It's my last day at my normal job tomorrow before I go it alone so I've got to go in and say my goodbye's(and leave a few business cards & flyers knocking about ) The plan was to go down on Tuesday, is it going to be worth spending £65 to go down on the train, will i just come back with a bagful of literature like I do at the motorshow or will I pick up new techniques and are there any supliers offering discounts on tools etc?
I'd be grateful if anybody who attended today could give me some feedback. | | |

| Re: The Tile & Stone Show | | I went yesterday, it depends if you need any tools, there was loads of wet cut machines, dry cutters and hand tools etc, unlesss you are after any thing specific. I only went as i knew a supplier was there who specialise in stone cleaning products and i wanted to meet him. So its up to you really, some people will say not worth going, but its good to see whats materials, and tools are on the market. |

| Re: The Tile & Stone Show | | I went today and only spent £16 on train fares, Would be upset to spend £65, Went for the same reason as enduro and lots of leaflets. For that distance would'nt worry to much and save your money | "Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes" |

| Re: The Tile & Stone Show | | The show is basically a trade show in the sense that its for manufuacturers to showcase to retailers etc.
But it has some appeal to the individual installer. Guess if you like to see everything tile related under one roof its a good show.
There are some deals to be had but as I said in the first line it has a heavy bias on retail.
There is the tiling competition to watch. We will make you a cup of tea! and you can see some new stuff.
Its your call ! But we are here at stand A60 if you swing by... What do you mean just a leaflet.... Said Aly. Ours are the best leaflets going.... Worth a £65 train fare any day of the week!
Plus you get a cup of tea.
However if its not your idea of a worthwhile day out then there are other events closer to home later this year. FULL SET OF PHOTOS |

| Re: The Tile & Stone Show | | Thanks! Nice to meet you too!
--------------------
Well T&S is over for another year. So thanks to all who came by. Sorry our stand is a bit of an eyesore with old benches, dirty mugs and drill bits everywhere. Sometimes it looks like a building site than a slick show stand.
But I think it gets the point over. We made a lot of trade contacts (which is the point) but it was even better to meet so many people from the TilersForum. One thing our distributor was over the moon with was that so many people came up to say how great the product was and that they stick by it!
We will keep you posted of other events as they come up. | |
