    Smile Slate Tiling

    Hi all, just joined the forum, quick question for you - I understand the importance of cleaning slate before laying - has anyone got a tips on what the best way is, is just cleaning it down with water ok etc?

    Hello geoff..

    A wipe over with a damp sponge usually does the trick to get a good bond...just depends on how dirty/dusty the slate is.....but make sure it is clean before sealing....

    no specials cleaners are need .....

    Geoff, yes just have a damp sponge ready and bucket of water...it's a matter of removing a film of dust from the side to be fixed in adhesive....Gaz
