I know a guy who puts vegetable oil from Tescos straight in the tank (non turbo). Costs him 37p a litre and he should be telling customs and excise but doesn't! Run well for 12 months so far - oldish Berlingo 1.9 diesel.

Apparently not - as long as it's a non turbo diesel without modern engine management like the newer HDI engines. I can't believe it either!

I'm pretty sure that the very first Diesel Engine ran on veggie oil or peanut oil.

ive run diesel engines on vegy oil for years with no probs but the price now is as much as diesel if he's gettin it for 37p a litre is it tesco in another country it's about a quid a litre now,& you don't have to inform customs & exise any more.
