I love the challenge, every job is different and every job poses its own problems to overcome. Also meeting different people and hearing their life stories is a bonus for me.

i am starting to lose intrest now as ther are to many crap trades people about. as i am the last one onto the jobthe people before me dont give a **** plasters, plumbers, kitchen fitters 95% percent of these people dont seem to take great pride in ther work and think that the tiler will hide there dodgy work. ie pipes not tracked into walls properly, plaster thats as level as hills, baths not bolted to walls, worktops with gaps of upton 15mm from wall etc, etc. and i would never see a customer stuck so end up with a lot of heartbreakers

dont leave.if all the craftsman leave the skills will die.you must teach your skills first.

but you have hit the nail on the head.the tiler is always one of the last and is left with everyones problems and a good craftsman will do his best to fix it. 90% of the time at his own cost.
therefor the better tradesman will not make the same money as a bodgey because he will not leave his job looking bad or not doing its job.

so hang in there for all our sakes

I took a couple of years off to sort out another business and am returning because no bigger satisfaction than going in my local takeaway and seeing the job i did back in 1990 still looking good or driving past the restraunt and seeing my work still there for all too see
