The money,
the job satisfaction,
the freedom of movement between jobs,
the socialising with all sorts,
the build up of knowledge(both here and work!),
and you call the shots,
all makes for a great career!

You plaster a wall then it gets painted, Thats all they see, the colour. Tiling is the finish product and more thinking on your feet at times on jobs. A good layed natural stone looks the dogs everytime and I've allways worked with my hands so tiling seemed a natural progression from plastering.

My finished projects, the gratitude and compliments from customers, the respect from my peers but more importantly I can see my family when I want not when a boss tells meI chose this trade as I was sick of marketing and sales and thought I was pretty good at tiling, now I am still doing marketing and sales but for my own company, result.

The money

Being your own boss

Different job in a different place every single time

Job satisfaction on seeing something I have created

and if I won millions, yes I would still tile because It's something I actually enjoy doing, though it wouldn't be on a full time basis.

Gotta be the looking at the end result that does it for me, obviously the money is a big factor, but after you've just tiled a customers bathroom/kitchen etc and they are really happy with it, make ya feel good doesn't it!!

SPEED MEANS NOTHING WITHOUT QUALITY....

its the respect you get from many trades and compliments and reputation you build with all your customers who go a long way to playing part in future work through recommendation....alot of what we do aint rocket science but sometimes an art form in creating something pleasing to the eye. You know tomorrow is never gonna be the same as today and that motivates me....aswell as the money of course but I work to live not live to work and tiling gives me that and a job I love

yeah its a wage, but we all need that. With tiling there is an end result. usually a happy customer and job satisfaction.
As for the lottery win, I was actually asked this today by my customer. At 1st i said i wouldnt work again but having thought about this before, i would set up supplying tiling consumables addy grout tools etc.
