    Default Tiling newbie

    Hi,

This is my first post and I wish I'd found this forum a few months ago.

I need to tile my kitchen and bathroom, the bathroom is about 95% tiled but I have made a right hash of it.

There are big gaps in the corners, I didn't plan or measure the room so I'm left with a 2 inch space at the top going all the way round and I don't feel like cutting all the pieces to fill the spaces.

I've attached the bath to the wall and tiled from the bath upwards, but now when I get a bath there is some movement and creaking noises when i get in and out of the bath and it's driving me mad.

I feel like ripping all the tiles off and starting again, reading some threads on here has already given me some good tips on how to get a better finish next time.

On a positive note I found that I got better as the job progressed so i guess practice makes perfect.

I expect that I will be revisiting this forum regularly for tips and advice.

Come to think of it the reason I have a two inch space at the top is because I started with a full tile at the bath and worked upwards.

Is this what the pro's would have done or would you have done a half tile at the bath and half tile at the ceiling?

Coving would hid the top cuts, or lack of them as stated yeah.

As positive notes go, have you enjoyed the experiance

    Thanks guys.

A friend of mine suggested coving as well but I wasn't too keen at first, but now I think it will be the way to go.

Yes I have enjoyed the experience, I have done quite a lot of DIY since buying my house 3 years ago. I get more satisfaction from this than my current job as an accountant.
