Default Which centre - window or taps?

Afternoon all,

Just had double ended bath installed which has the taps in the centre, however the window which is above the abth is not centre therefore should I tile using the window as the centre or the taps?

Also, because of the dimensions the height behind the bath and under the window is too small for two tiles (see my pdf) should I have the half tiles starting from the bath edge or from under the window? (hope this makes sense)

I've attached a photo of the bathroom (not very clear as lishts not installed yet) so you can get an idea of what I mean and a pdf to show that I was thinking of using the taps as the centre.

I will be tiling in natural limestone so should I use any edging strips around the window or just make sure the tiles around the window are larger so that the window tiles sit in them (see other pdf)?

Thanks

Rob

I think this one of those where you can't win. Have you tried drawing it up centreing on the window?

I would also overlap in the window the other way round.

Oli,

It's not to scale however it gives a good indication of the dimensions because I drew it to scale on graph paper.

I suspect I will have to draw it both ways and see how it looks.

Thanks for the comment on the window tiles...it will probably be easier this way too!

The rule is window so why change it, if there is a comback then you are safe.

If it's your bathroom then as you say, draw it both ways and see which you prefer, if your doing it for someone else, show them the drawings both ways and ask how they want it done.

Either way best of luck.

I suspected that would be the case, however because of teh position of the window, taps etc.

It may be an idea if I cut pieces of paper out to the right size and see how it looks first.

I'd say window too, it's covering head height / where you'd natually look.

Well that settles it then...looks like I will centre from the window. Also, as it's my bathroom all I need to do is get the nod from the missus!
