Have a look at this thread the same sealing instructions will apply to you but if you have started with 1 sealer you should continue unless you only done a test patch.

    Limestone sealing advice.

If your still not sure shout out.

so its normal to get the greasy effect intially, when you polish that off i assume the impregnator has still soaked in?

Different marbles have different surface tension (the final finish on the marble). Normally with a highly polished marble it will be more difficult to impregnate with the sealer. Different make sealers vary tremendously but in general they all need a carrier to take the sealer below the surface and that can either be a solvent, water or combination. As a rule of thumb polished marble accepts solvent or combination based sealers the best. However, the best way is to carry out a test on a spare piece with a couple of different sealers until you are satisfied with the result. Be patient when applying and most importantly follow the application directions. Good Luck

Sorry to hear of this dilemma..........HG do an impregnator for marble...also lithofin stainstop is good as well.......but as mentioned mixing sealers doesn't work.....

I would contact HG and see what they recommend to use to remedy this problem.......

You can phone them on 01603 714341

or you can email them direct >>>HERE<<<

good luck and let us know how it goes........
