My existing flooring is good quality Rhino vinyl sheeting. I'm planning to lay 500*500 porcelain tiles using BAL single part flexible. The floor is solid flooring grade chipboard (new 1991). It's been suggested that tiling over the vinyl would provide a free insulation layer rather removing it and tiling directly onto the chipboard. Is this a good idea? The room size is circa 40 sq m so I want to get it right! | ||||||||||

You have to take the vinyl up ,it only takes for the vinyl to come loose and the floor would be ruined. | ||||||||||

Definitely take it up........the vinyl is not stable enough to tile to and could breakdown with time thus causing the tiles to de-laminate...... | ||
