    Default mosaics on floor

Hi all, Got a job on thursday with mosaics on floor. ive done a sheet width along a floor before but not a whole floor. last time just just used a flat trowel to create a bed and padded down to minimise any adhesive coming through. so for a whole floor do you use a 3mm trowel? surely that wouldnt be enough support? any other help would be great. Jobs in spain for a company so would hate to **** things up. thanks

I would use a tile & grout mosaic powder adhesive Nicobond do one in various colours, anything that comes through doesnt matter then. Normal trow can be used

    Mosaic trowel

Bal mosaic fix is good stuff.

Keep a damp sponge handy for wiping of excess cement

    Stagger the joints

the day before skim the floor with the adhesive to make sure there are no voids. when its dry rub over with a stone to iron out any bumps. i have always used a 3mm trowel and have never had any problems , but be sure when fixing the whole floor area is covered. depending on the size of mosaics using a 5mm or above sometimes does not give enough coverage on the back of the tile. also use an additive in your grout to ensure permanent adhesion (sorry about the spelling mistakes )

As long as the substrate is flat then a 3 or 4 mm mosaic trowel will be fine.....as for adhesive then seen as the job is out in spain then try the Mapei spain site to locate stockists... http://www.mapei.es/

    Good luck......
