Re: preparing for NETT | | Hi Ross
After the first day you will be able to cut anything acuratly out of a piece of tile, look at the bunny rabitt photo on our website, this will show you what standard you will achieve just after the first afternoon, my setting out methods are from level 3 setting out britsh standards way, only i have made it better and quicker to do, every cut in the bathroom found in under 5 minuits.
You will end up with a 30 page hand out that covers every situation, preparation that you will need, i spend half a day in the classroom drilling this info into your head but you will have the notes as a back up. It will tell you everything from what size trowel you need for the size of tile, what adhesive and primers to use right through to the chemical reactions you can get from different products on different surfaces, weight ratios etc.
Tiling is tiling, once you know how to do it it is very repetative so longer courses will just go over the same situations or just take a slower pace. Our course is fast paced and just simply delivers everything you need to know in a short time, if you need to practice what you have learned, do some more tiling on your own garage wall, The real practice can only come from a real situation, all training centres are artificial so you can only learn so much there, Aquire the right skills then do some friends and familly, take it slow then introduce yourself to the public and your away.
Hope this answers your question
