Hi Goodenough, welcome to the forums I will move your post to the new members section.
I personally went down to Warrington to do my training. I think training centres are a bit thin on the ground in Scotland.

Good Morning I'm ready to book my course this week and looking for abit of advice
I am looking at Nett or Grangemouth Howtotile, have heard loads of good stuff about Nett on this forum, but does anyone know anything about Howtotile courses I am near Dundee so Grangemouth would be a better option, but I dont mind paying a bit more or the travel to Nett
There was a post moved about Edinburgh courses any of the moderators tell me if its still here cant link to it.
Thanks John
Hello
I run the Tiler Training School in Edinburgh. We have been running courses from last November. During my career in the tiling industry I became aware of the shortage of tilers and in particular those trained to a decent standard. The trade is as yet unregulated and few people appreciate the skill and knowledge involved in tiling properly.
I set up the Tiler Training School to provide new tilers with sound skills and knowledge. Similar training centres existed throughout England but nothing on this scale existed in Scotland. The centres in England were very successful and I knew there was a demand for something similar here. The school was designed with input from CITB who we worked closely with when designing the layout. We also work in conjunction with some leading industry names who attend the school to provide training such as PCI, Weber and Ecofloor.
We are in the process of gaining accreditation so that we can provide SVQ's and anyone who has already been down that route will no doubt know about all the paperwork involvedhowever we hope to be offering SVQ's in the near future.
We supply tools and materials to local tilers and businesses and set up Tiling Trade Supplies. There were few places where tilers could buy tools/materials locally and choices were limited. We supply high quality goods from respected manufacturers at competitive prices such as Rubi and Montolit among others.
Tiling Trade Supplies is an approved supplier of PCI products and is negotiating contracts to supply to local construction companies.
We have also joined forces with Ceramic Tile Warehouse who supply tiles to the school. Students can use CTW to buy tiles and receive discount. CTW will also pass work on to approved tilers.
I hope to spend more time on the Tilers Forum and will be more than happy to give advice and i myself will also be looking to learn a few new things myself in this rapidly expanding trade.
You are welcome to come along to the school any time for a chat.
