i think i wrote my comment wrong i didnt mean all the courses are a waste of time and the nett course with darren sounds a good one i was just a bit nieve about it and snobby but i understand what ivegots is sayin i know a 30 year old cannot live on £100 a week and i think its good that people want to change there careers i was lucky when i left school i knew what i wanted to do

it only means more competition which is sort of a good thing makes you work harder to find work i know preston is swamped with tilers now after all these courses about and alot of them are crap tilers ive been to look at a few jobs where they have messed up ( not saying all of them)

I done a weeks course at NETT. The course contents and delivery where excellent, Darren simplifies tiling so absolutly anyone could learn and make a go of it. I have now been tiling part time for over a year now and not only made very good money but started a new rewarding carrer and for that I cannot thank Darren, Tracey, and the wee other guy enough.

Truth be told , a lot of time served tilers (not all) think they are the only ones out there who can get a slice of the pie because it took them 4 years to learn and dont like the fact that people like Darren are producing competition for them. I can understand that but everyone has the right to better themselves so they can provide a better life for there family.

I would say to enyone if the want a change of carrer that is challenging and they think they would enjoy tiling as a carreer then look no further than NETT. Even after you have trained Darren will help you with any problems by email,, Trust me I bug him all the time and true to his word he gets back to me promptly.

I agree with the comments from charlie 1 whole heartedly. But i think that if you have a bit of diy knowledge ie how to ply floors and put gyproc on walls then you will get more jobs as you are more confident in how to deal with substrates etc.The biggest attribute you must have if you are going to be successful is a willingness to learn and being able to sell yourself and your business to the potential client.
