Re: Jobs after professional tiling course
I have, previously, taken on "newbies" in a labouring capacity. Having given them the opportunity to demonstrate their ability with setting out and marking their own cuts, as well as fixing a few tiles I feel that I completely under-estimated their confidence and abilities.
I'm not knocking anyone that has come through a tile training course (in fact I updated my knowledge by means of a training course) but there is no accounting for experience. It's the little things like remembering to keep tools clean or your workspace organised, i.e. the stuff you don't learn on a course
.
Everyone has to start somewhere, and expectations have to be set accordingly.
