What would be more useful?
To go along with my tiling course, a plastering course of a plumbing course?
Is the ability to plaster more useful to a tiler, or the ability to fit a bath, toilet or radiator etc?
Cheers,
Mark

Re: What would be more useful?
I'm a plasterer by trade, but I really really wish I knew more about plumbing

Re: What would be more useful?
all bathroom refits require plumbing, not all require plastering, so I'd say plumbing would be more beneficial than plastering

Re: What would be more useful?
the plastering will be far more benefical imo in regards to your tiling than the plumbing unless you are only going to concentrate on bathrooms only..

Re: What would be more useful?
Same as Doug with the plastering, keep thinking of the plumbing side though

Re: What would be more useful?
Plastering..... ALL tilers should be able to prep thier own walls ready for tiling..

Re: What would be more useful?
i would do plastering as your backgrounds are paramount to a decent finish
you only need basic plumbing to remove and refit a bathroom suite
I know nothing I havent learnt

Re: What would be more useful?
I agree.. but water bylaws apply to toilets..sinks and baths..
what about bonding installations... anyone installing should know the regs...don't you agree..
.. but saying that the regs change like our weather...lol lol...

i do agree with you dave
theres also the issue of taking off and refitting rads
so it would be best to attend a course before attempting plumbing
I know nothing I havent learnt

Re: What would be more useful?
i thought you couldnt tile on to scrim plaster if so you wouldnt need a plastering course just to cut plasterboard or backerboards and if you just put a basecoat of plaster to tile onto it wont mater if its not flat and polished finish so if thats so wouldnt a plumbing course be more beneficial to someone starting out ?
dont suffer problems find solutions

Re: What would be more useful?
The plastering course will be with NETT, as would the plumbing course.
