The "browns" have given me a hangover one too many times already . I'll let you know how it went. I think I spoke to Tracy at NETT ? She assured me there is no snow up North, proberly because it's all here in Shakey Wakey. Right then, got to get myself in gear, I have a two hour drive ahead of me.

Got back from NETT last night with a spinning head, he really does fill up the time with a lot of info. I was suprised how fast the day went by. The Natural stone 1 day coarse was very good value for money, he covered so many subjects in such a short time and really inspired everyone. Very easy to understand why Darren is so highly recommended.

I would also like to add that I did not attend his 4 day tiling coarse so Darrren made a big effert to bring me up to speed with everyone else who had attended, he didn't have to but he did.

He also pointed out a few errors of my ways that I had learned from my previous coarse at a different training centre, these few points alonewill save me loads of time and mess, especially regarding the setting out process, once again this was not part of the one day coarse it was just some advice darren felt would be a big benifit to me.

Darren also makes a good nurse.... I tested his skills within minutes of starting the day by slicing a large gash into my index finger with a tape messure !

On a funny note, I do think Darren looks a lot like Uri Geller

I had a fantastic day and was well taught. Happy days !

You're right, he does!!! (Of course you're much better looking, Darren) He is without doubt one of the best teachers I have ever come across though, a year on for me and I still remember everything. I hope you took warm clothes, vinny! You'll be there now, I'm almost envious!

Yeah I was wrapped up well, it does get a little chilly in there. I'm now searching for test subjects to try out my new found knowledge. Don't want to go self employed for a good while yet, still feel it's better I do jobs for friends and family first for at least my first ten jobs, others may wonder why but I just can't shake the feeling that I must delivery a totally fantastic job for my first paying customer under my trading name when I do go self employed.

Anyone who has read this thread and is wondering if training as NETT would be a good idea, I would say get it done

    Lovely post and nice comments!
As for keeping warm at the training centre - just wait till you get to site and you have to break the ice off the water buckets to get to your tiles!
Oh! sorry that was 36 years ago - I forgot we have central heating now!

Good luck with your paying jobs and yes EVERY job has to be fantastic not just your first.
But your putting in the time and effort so don't worry and enjoy it!.
