Hi, im wanting to change career to be a tiler, have tiled my bathroom and mam's bathroom and seem to be quite handy at it, but after looking for ages there doesn't seem to be any tiling courses in the Carlisle area. CAN YOU HELP ME??????  ???????????????? | ||||||||||

THANKS 4 THAT dhceramics have looked on the website and seems like a really good course!! Gonna wait and see if anyone knows of any courses closer to Carlisle. If not the this looks like a good option | ||||||||||

so if i done the NETT course thatwould give me a good foundation to start a career in tiling either with an employer or starting up myself. Do you get a recognised qualification at the end of the course? | ||||||||||

The only recognised qualification in Tiling is an NVQ (or SVQ) here in the UK. This can be time consuming to gain and it's only really required at the moment on commercial sites and most of those seem to be not asking for them. Although that's a bit of a grey area. Most go on a short course and practise on their friends and family jobs and get a feel for it and start getting the right tools etc and make sure they enjoy it and feel they are capable full-time then start to either find employment or go self-employed at which point you will know if you need a NVQ and should you feel you do, you can get one via OSAT which will be explained to you on a course at most training centres. | ||

sounds good!! Me and a mate are probably gonna do the nett course within the next kinda month or so. Just waiting to hear back off the college see if they have any courses | ||||||||||
