how do you manage to combine the 2 trades. do they go hand in hand. i would have thought most people would want a tiler for tiling and a plasterer for plastering. i was worrying that it might make me look loike a jack of all trades to joe public.
in your opinion which does the better busines devon mark, the tiling or the plastering
thank
cro ps what do any of you other guys think, would combining the 2 look trades put customers off, any help appreciated regading this because i am going to book a plastering course soon and i will stick to the tiling and forget about plastering if its not the done thing |
Hi Croc,
I was plastering long before I did any tiling, I went on to do tiling because 98% of the bathroom and kitchen walls that I was plastering were for them to be tiled.
My business name is Plastering & Tiling Solutions....say's what I do.
In answer to your question..yes they do go hand in hand..at times, I work the two different aspects of the business as the work comes in, this week I'm tiling a bathroom next week I'm ripping down a ceiling, reboarding and skimming, the week after I'm rendering the exterior of a house (weather permitting).
I think the work that comes in is pretty much even...plastering and tiling..though I can make more money plastering I prefer to tile simply because I enjoy it more.
Not so sure on the renovation bit....you may be expected to do more than plastering and tiling.
Hope this helps a bit, good luck whatever you decide..Mark.
