Default College Courses

Hi Everyone,

I have recently been accepted onto the constuction award in wall & floor tiling at south birmingham college. I applied bloody ages ago and since then I have been looking at short courses such as a four week course at chase tiling because i dident think I would get on the college course!

Now I dont no which course to do, could do the 4 week at chase or 2 years at college, which one would be best has anyone got any experince of what college courses are like and could i start working for myself after a year at college.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forums Dunbarr 1,college will of course lead to a qualification, which you don't need to be self - employed tiler, unless you want to work on building sites.Let's see what anyone thinks

As Gaz says you dont need a qualification to be self employed but i would recommend doing a tiling course and especially NORTH EAST TILING TRAINING in SOUTH SHIELDS have an excellent set up which you will leave feeling very confident to start working on your own.

Thanks for the replys, so if you have a qualification you can work on building sites is that all the qualification does? is there much work on sites I always imagined most tilers where self employed and avoided site work?

has anyone got experince of a college course and are they a good standard? college is cheaper but it just takes way longer! Not sure what to do!
