I have heard only good things about Chase Tiling in Cannock Staffordshire. Easy to get to from the M6 and carry out Only Wall and Floor Tiling Courses, which means they are specialists, they don't run any other course type, you usually find this type of tiling course is the most rewarding. These also don't do a hard push on tiling tools or other gear, they just let you know what you need and the cheapest place to get them

I'd pop over to see the centre, or at least give them a call.

Thumbs up Re: Tiling Course in the west midlands

I did my Tiling course here some time ago. I did the 4 week course and it covers everything from operating the Rubi cutter to creating wall and floor images with tiles, to area perparation to what adhesives and grouts to use. Just thinking about the work I have had since, everything I learn't I have used to tackle the most complicated jobs with ease.

Everything was explained and demonstrated carefully and all questions answered professionally. Phil (the course tutor) is vastly experienced in nothing but tiling, so you know you are getting the right instruction and advice. I have been to other construction training centres in the Midlands (for basic brickwork and plastering courses - well worth doing to help you out of sticky situations on the tiling), and the 'tiling' courses they offer are obvioulsy for the DIY'er, as the course content was very empty.

I met some great people on the course (and we often swap work with each other), and I often go back to see Phil for a brew whilst swinging the lantern on my achievements. He always has time for you and still hands out the advice when I need it.

@@@UPDATE@@@

Phil at Chase Tiling Academy has recently informed me that the training centre is imminently due to be accredited by the CITB, therefore being able to offer the Intermediate Construction Award and On Site Assessment & Training for the more experienced to gain their NVQ.

For me looking for OSAT, thats absolutely perfect timing as its on my doorstep. For others looking for courses, this should be confirmation that the courses run here are 100% bang on.

If your going to book with Chase Tiling, mention my name to Phil, and watch the old bugger smirk......

Best thing to do is give them a call - and as I always say to those who are interested, mention my name and let them tell you about my success since doing the course.

What you will find is cowboy training centres offering you the world, where as infact they give you nothing when you get there. It dissapoints me to think they will take money off people looking to change their career for life, giving them false hope and getting them thinking there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

I was a teacher and I haven't looked back since lads....

Good luck

Hi all,

I have just completed a 4 week course at THE CHASE TILING ACADEMY.
This course is a must for anyone looking to become a tiler, I could tile before i went on the course, but I wanted to get better and to a good standard and I believe that I have and so have the other fantastic lads that were on the course.

Everything about the course is really good, from the work bays to the people ( big phil and his dodgy phone).

Having only finnished the course yesterday I am looking forward to getting out there on my own and I cant wait to pop back in to the academy to see them.

Martyn

Just finished the 4 week course at Chase Tiling.
Great in every way. The content seems to cover most jobs and situations and the instructer Phil gives you all the knoledge & confidence you need to start a new career in tiling, it's just up to you to do the rest.
The 4 weeks went so quick as it was always fun......learning is always better this way.
Very highly recommended....thanks Phil & Margaret.
Dean.

Adoo Lads,

Nice to see someone else on here from Chase Tiling!! (I think we may have met before when I have been for a brew up there )

L & R, Chase Tiling are in the process of accreditation by the CITB. So if your looking for recognised qualifications, look no further than here mate
