Default Cooling idea

Hi richard what do you think of this as a cooling idea to use/promote with your hole cutters..?.......A piece of sponge soaked in water then inserted in the hole cutter..

Watch this video and you will see what i mean..........

Hi yes we saw that one which is French based. We dont mention this too often but we do actually sell in France as well - and if anyone French or in France is reading this post needs to buy diamond core drills then they should go to our .fr website.

View our French Website: [Forets Diamant]

This site is a legaly registered french company operating and selling (exporting) from England to France (makes a change!) and we also plan to expand into the Spanish & Italian market too...
Just in case anyone from France is reading this post then for your benefit here is the French translation of the above (and for the search engines)

Back to the video and I believe there are multiple ways of applying water to cool so yes I did look at inserting sponges but its costly to mass produce
and it added costs to the kits, its bit fiddly with the most common sizes which are small *between 6mm and 25mm* .
My personal view is most people find their own way. And with our kit once the drill plate is out of the way then cooling via a sponge on the outside is really the same as doing it on the inside.
As for delivering the water via a jet inside the clamp well its main drawback is that it puddles on the floor. In contrast a sponge underneath not only catches all the dust but stops water escaping down the wall. (My opinion!)
I recon a sponge underneath keeps the site clean, the drill cool, and makes less water mess to clear up!
At the moment we are messing about with YouTube vids ourself and we may make something very similar to the French one. Once we are settled down with our new UK National Distributor {more details on that later} then we can perahps expand the marketing a bit more to cover the how to use.

Below is a crude experiment and not the fully finished item by a long shot

How the hell do you embed vids into posts...! I am a web designer so I should at least know the basics... {AND KNOW I KNOW - THANKS DAVE}

We are slowly getting better at our videos (hey come on this is only vid-3) and if we can stop YAPPING about rubbish and narrate then we might have something worth publishing!

This one is 30seconds and at the Grand Designs show London 2008
