Default Q-Rock Tiles - Grout problem

Hi all, i recently had my bathroom done and had some Q-Rock tiles installed (100x100 Wall Tiles & 300x300 Floor tiles) black with light grey grout.

The person installing them didn't do a good job, and the grout has stained the tiles....I have tried several products with nothing managing to remove the stains?

Does any one have nay suggestions?

Well you have no come back on topps if they wernt sealed. They are made of porcelain so the use of one of these following the instructions should do what you need.

LTP Grout Stain Remover

Lithofin cement away

Fila Deterdek

Check the instructions if you have underfloor heating m8

Topps told me that they don't need sealing.
After testing them (coz the glaze looked full of holes) they do indeed stain - badly.
Lithofin works ok, even better with a scotch pad.

Mine did! The small brick style wall tiles (cream) stained with white grout, so I had to seal them.

The 30x30 floor tiles (cream) were ok though.

I think the shiny finish was suspect on the wall tiles, but it was better on the floor tiles.

These Q-rock tiles have a textured finish.....and it is more than likely that it is just that the grout has grabbed into the grainy finish on the tiles....probably more down to leaving the grout too long before washing off...thus making it harder to clean off.......use lithofin cement away and a Scotch type emulsifying pad and it should come off....

That's true Dave. You've got to clean them thoroughly.
They were still staining though. The glaze finish was full of holes. Anyone using them - watch out for it!

This product from BAL is useful if grouting with BAL grouts.....

BAL Protective Sealer
A water-based polymer emulsion specifically formulated to provide a temporary, protective coating to ceramic tile/mosaic surfaces during the grouting process. Suitable for use with all BAL grouting products.

BAL PROTECTIVE SEALER is a water dispersible temporary sealer designed to protect the tile surface against discolouration which may arise when using pigmented grouts. It is not a permanent sealer.
