Default How to recover from a bad sealing job?

Need advice to recover from a bad seal job on 18" x 18" travertine on concrete. Tiles appear to NOT have been well cleaned after grouting completed. <1 week between gouting and Base Mold install then floor lightly cleaned and sealed with Stone Seal 711 by Braxton Bragg. Tile has same appearence as when it was lightly cleaned after initial grouting of floor. Was noticable at that time and asked installer if we needed to clean it further before sealing. We were assured it would not. Now we are where we are. Any advice?

Hi

There is a good chance that the 711 you used is made by Miracle sealants but try Braxtons first. Give them a call and tell them you need to strip the 711 off some trav (you need an alkali stripper). They should be able to help if not try Miracle.

When you strip the sealer off there is a good chance it will clear some of the grout too. An visible grout while its wet with stripper us a window scraper or a stanley blade to take it off the suface.

That should do you, let us know how you get on
