Does anyone know of any good publications regarding Natural Stone & Restoration? Where do I buy them ? Ive had a quick look on Amazon but no joy yet. I'm thinking about Investing in Stone Restoration and maintanance. I need to know which machines and products you guys recommend.. As always everybody thinks that their supplier is best but please let me know what you use and who trained you.....

Kind regards

Ant

Ive been working with stone 15yrs and I have yet to find one that is a substitute for actual experience. The biggest problem with stone is its natural so each piece is completely different. This is the variable you work against and the reason there are so so many baddly fixed stone jobs, being a tiler isnt enough you need to understand what I am saying here glean as much info as possible and respect it. Experience is the key here there is no substitute for it and no book is going to give you that.

Decide on a reputable sealer company like Lithofin and get hold of their manuals

Get brochures off the top 3 uk distributers and read what they have to say

When you have done the latter search google for the words you come across like sedimentry, calcific, alkai

This will give you some understanding ,get you started and answer your questions for you.

( travertine, marble, limestone, sealer )
