We are a limited company registered with Companies House in Cardiff and we are also registered for VAT with HMRC under Marble Life Ltd.

Furthermore we own and have the intellectual rights to http://marblelife.co.uk and have done for over 4 years.

I have spent close to six years building this company from nothing to get it where it is today.

If I catch you purporting to be us or find any documentary evidence that you are attempting to pass yourselves off as us, using our Trading Name, you have my word that I will do everything in my power to pursue you and get you closed down legally. I will then pursue you for punitive damages.

if you are 'marble life ltd, then by law they cannot call themelves by this title, so companies house would be on them like a shot ..

if they are calling them selves ' marble life' sole trader etc, then i thought they could operate under this name legally? obviously if this company is 'alledgedly' passing themselves off as part of your company, then obviously thats a totally different matter...

ps, are you also tiling logistics? i remember a guy who used to be on here called kev martin who was into stone restoration.

We split the company into two different companies a couple of years ago. Tiling Logistics took over Sales, Supply, Warehousing and Training and Marble Life Ltd was set up to deal solely with the Restoration Work. So yes still the same Kev Martin only a lot bigger now, Company and body.

Pretty sure you'll be able to stop them using your brand though. I can give you a bit of advice on that if you need it but I'm sure you've already looked into it.

I suppose it depends on how long MarblelifeLondon have been trading if its been over 'the last couple' of years since you split your co. and they have a site of the same name MarblelifeLondon. whatever, they could claim a longer entitlement to a trading name - which to me is totally different from yours anyway. If you were called MarblelifeBirmingham then it may sound as you are part of the same group, but Marble Life Ltd and MarblelifeLondon IMHO don't.
Anyway I hope you get your share of the market.

There is a Marblelife in the US that is a franchise and it is constantly making a bad name for itself by ruining stone with improper techniques. I have no idea how they stay in business other than the simple fact that most consumers have no idea how to care for their stone properly.

t wasn't an offer! It was a quoted price over the phone for them to give me exclusive rights to the West Midlands. After all everyone in the WMids will ring Florida to get their floor restored won't they?

We haven't changed our name to Marble Life. Marble Life is a limited company that we formed to undertake all our restoration business. Tiling Logistics was the original company that undertook everything it was just getting too big so we split the responsibilities. Tiling Logistics concentrates solely now on supplying it's trade & retail customers through the warehouse in Solihull and it's 4 online stores.

i am just a bit confused if you was already trading as Marble Life why would a company of the same name be talking to you about a franchise? if you new there was a company named* Marble Life selling a*franchise or*franchises then you should know there may be other people trading with a similar name whether it be*Marble Life London, Manchester, Birmingham or Glasgow. as long as they are not using*Marble Life Ltd* there should be no problem. * * *

Read the post then thoroughly. I don't give a monkeys about them calling themselves Marble Life London or if 50 other people call themselves Marble Life. What I care about is they do not purport to be us or a London Branch of Marble Life Ltd. The person involved knows exactly what he has done.

I mean there could be some confusion between 'TileForums' and 'TilersForums' could't there???

And maybe neither does MarbleLifeLondon??? You said yourself you were offered a franchise from MarbleLife US. Maybe these people bought the London franchise. In which case yes they are the London Branch of Marble Life.

I don't know, I don't really care but maybe you should contact them direct. It sounds as though you don't have proof and are going on the word of a third party. Before you try and oust somebody in public I would be damn sure you have the facts first hand.

You are missing the point! I don't care about the marbleLifelondon bit. They claimed they trained with us and don't you think I have tried contacting them before I put this message on 6 different forums! They got the message and the matter is closed unless I find out they have tried it again. I do have my facts straight
