Re: Repair and cleaning of travertine floor
sounds like a topical sealer was used prior to grouting, was this the case?

Re: Repair and cleaning of travertine floor
I agree with Doug.... Travertine is mostly honed finish.. so was a surface ( Topical ) sealer used.. if so do you know which one..?
If not don't worry as it can be sorted and restored to new....

Re: Repair and cleaning of travertine floor
hi there thanks for your responses. The floor was laid and grouted and then approx 3 coats of a sealer added. The tiles and sealer came from topps tiles and were recommended by them.
Thanks

and the stone was of "Topps" usual quality. Meaning not particularly well honed, full of filler on the face and holes on the reverse.

You need a High Alkaline cleaner combined with a rotary scrubber and a soft to medium rotary scrubbing brush and a wet vacuum to sort the cleaning then a stukko repair resin Knife grade to fill the holes and then a good quality premium penetrating sealer to seal.
