    Default Porcelain scuffs

    Hi There.

I have just had a polished black Porcelain tile laid at my home. There are 3 tiles which have scuffs on them. They are quite obivious in the evening when the spot lights are turned on. I'm absalouty gutted as i've saved long and hard for this floor and am disipointed with these marks.
Is there any way which these can be polished out? has any one had scuffs which they have been able to get rid of? I checked every tile before they were laid and am sure they were not there before. I'm gutted please help! I'm really regretting going for this type of tile! Please help

Hi 1275min, as Dave says pics would help. Could these be metal marks?

Sorry mate, A metal mark is when something metal has been pulled across tiles. It leaves a residue of metal that can be removed by a mild abrasive. Your pic is hard to call, a bit vague, could it be polymer from adhesive?

    Hi Phil,

Thanks for getting back to me. I dont think it is polymer although not to sure what the term means. You'll have to forgive my ignorance i'm a sparky by trade.
Polished Porcelain is polished so there must be a product out there or a abrasive and poilshing wheel to remove these marks surely?

They can be removed no probs... but the pic doesn't show up very well..

It looks more like smudge marks of some sort.... I could suggest a cleaner to try and then see how that goes..

you would be far better trying the easy stuff first as trying to polish a small section of a tile will not work well and it will invariably show up when you look across the tile ,to me it looks like a small area of transit wax has been sealed in to the tile I would do as Dave suggested and try the abra clean before trying anything else ,hope this helps Gary
