Default Travertine floor maintenance

I apologise of this appears to be a duplication of previous threads.

My customer had a travertine floor (22m2) fixed [not by me] approx 6 years ago and, apparently, has never really been happy with the finish. She has asked me to clean all the tiles and apply fresh polish / sealer.

Can anyone recommend the best approach and advise suitable products please?

Is it worth hiring a machine, and if so, what and where from?

As it stands, I am anticipating using Stone Fix Grime Remover diluted 1 part to 5 water and a lot of elbow grease to remove the existing finish. I was then thinking of applying a satin finish sealer / polish, probably with a roller. I usually buff off excess residue after the sealer has had time to penetrate the surface.

Have I got it right, or is there an easier / better way?

I use a rotary floor scrubber and a wet vac, and the products you want to use are Aquamix products.

I would advise you do a test area prior to tackling the whole floor. I also would not be applying a topical sealer.

I would clean the area with Aqua Mix sealing & Coating remover. Then i would clean the area with Aqua mix HD Tile & Grout. Then re seal using a penetrating sealer to suit the client. I would deffo use a rotary scrubber and polisher together with a wet Vac.

Thanx Guys.

I advised the client that a test area would be sensible and I plan to do that in the next coupe of weeks.

You both suggest using a rotary scrubber and wet vac as well as Aquamix products. First question...Can you advise where I may be able to get the Aquamix products (CTD??), please? Secondly, have you got any suggestions / information on the equipment so that I can find somewhere that will be able to hire it to me, please?

Thanks in advance.

A rotary scrubber can be hired from most Hire Shops as can a Wet Vac. You need a low RPM machine around 150-200RPM. Factor the hire costs into the job. As for Aqua Mix I will post the suppliers.
