| Cleaning Mold from Limestone. | | Hello All
Complete novice here who has a Limestone tiled shower with niche in. Unfortunately, due to size constraints the shower head faces the niche and there is a build up of mold. I obviously need to clean the mold and then re-seal. I have tried limestone cleaner from Topps Tiles and that does not seem to have worked.
Any suggestions? Thanks very much.

| Re: Cleaning Mold from Limestone. | | Cleaning the mould is not the problem it is finding the cause of it. It sounds from your brief description that you have a ventilation problem. Any chance of a few pictures please?

Any suggestions? Thanks very much. | How about Dettol Anti-Bacterial Mould & Mildew Remover? Not sure if it would damage the tiles though?

| Re: Cleaning Mold from Limestone. | | Thanks for all replies.
Just heard from the Missus that the Dettol Mould and Mildew remover seems to have done the trick. Although remains to be seen if the bleach contained within the dettol damages the tiles, will let you know.
I agree it will probably come back but once cleaned the intention is to re-seal and then repeat the process in around 6 months.

| Re: Cleaning Mold from Limestone. | | Rob,
It has certainly took the Mould off, they are like new!! When the tiles are dry you can note see any damage, it is only when they are wet, there is a slight streakiness to the way the water runs down the tile.

| Re: Cleaning Mold from Limestone. | | Hi,
Re stopping future mould growth, applying the Aegis Microbeshield onto your tiles will eradicate any future growth. I work with the product on my restoration jobs in Ireland (we use the trade name BioShield) its a brill product, save you future years of cleaning and scrubbing mould as well as all relative health benefits that come from not exposing yourself to harmful spores. Major bonus! Let me know how you get on!
Regards,
