Fired Earth adhesives and grouts...

Hi squad,

I'm looking at quite a luscious job where the customer has already bought a couple of pallets of Fired Earth materials, including Fired Earth adhesive and grout....

Before anyone says 'get them to take it back and swap for Mapei' - they can't

Has anyone had any experience of this stuff and do you know who makes it?

I think Dunlop used to make it but not sure if they still do.

As far as i know it is BAL...might be wrong though..

On their tiling bit of their website they show you all these expensive tiles alongside pdf downloads of diy tiling. ooops

It did used to be Dunlop, think it probably still is.

A friend of mine does fired earth shop fits and they supply all the addy and grout he uses ,he has never had any trouble with it so i would say it is alright Merle

Dunlop's Ok if that is what it is

Bal and Dunlop are part of the same group - just packaging for different consumer markets.
Fired Earth have always had their adhesives from Building Adhesives Ltd.
What colour grout is specified?
As you will be aware the adhesives from FE are expensive.
