not recommended , imo

Steer clear of this

Ooh no... Why mdf? If you have to cover mdf use backerboard or ply.
not recommended im afraid..
Thank you for the replies, it is very much appreciated.
It's not a problem I have or something I am intending to do, just wondered whether it was possible.
So if I came across it, either rip it down and start a new or board over with ply, tile backers or even plasterboard providing the MDF was in a fir state to fit to?

MDF=nono... tiles will come off

or if no choice, do waterpfroofing on (mapei). waterproofing will stick to mdf-tiles will stick to waterproofer

Not a suitable surface to tile to, what room are you tiling in and is it to be walls or floor?
I don't have a room, just wondered if possible to tile on to MDF.

better not
I did think it was a good idea. I have done a little tiling in the past decided to take a course on it as I was able to get fund due to me loosing my job.
One of the many questions I forgot ask during Q&A time.

Nope not on that

Give Mapei technical support a call. I seem to remember a conversation with them to the effect that provided I use their "Primer G" and "Keraquick", they would warranty the job. I think it was with reference to moisture resistant MDF (the green stuff) but still may be worth a call.
For the record though, I always refuse to tile onto MDF.
Good luck,
