It is personal preference to a degree, check out your local retailers/independents etc and see what they sell ..

I have been using weber but find the grey grout sets quickly and harder to use

Have you tried Mapei ultracolour..

hi blair,it will take you some time to see what diff adhesives are like to work with if you are just starting out

you could open trade accounts in all the local shops and see what makes they stock,phone most adhesive companies and most will send you literature on what there diff products do spec wise

also ask about trade days...most shops have them every so soften where addy companies sometimes try new products and also give you a go and some time freebies to sample

if your new also i would maybe do a few jobs steering clear of fast setting rapid sets so your confidence and speed gets up

As others have said, a lot is personal choice, steer away from the tubs, as for Weber grout, same thing goes for Mapei, you gotta watch it like a hawk, it sets fast lol. As for brands, I love PCI nanolight on walls, has a lot of grab

there is actually a trade day on friday i think at a loacal tile giant in edinburgh,i beleive gordon from mapei will be there ,think renovation screed is one they are going to use maybe worth a visit blair? pm me blair and ill give you some info on shops etc that are local who may be able to help you on your way
