What primer should I use for a concrete floor
HI, I am about to tile with porcelain tiles onto a concrete floor in a new build flat.
Tiles are I am told 30 x 40cm.
Three areas to do, bathroom, kitchen and hall.
Floors are apparently dry and confirmed as such, because client is having a wooden floor also installed in the lounge area and has had damp/humidity test done.
So, is there any primer that I should put down first?
I intend to use Ultra one part rapid flex adhesive with matching Ultra flexible grout.
Thanks in anticipation. Karl, MJPS, Leeds

Hi Whitebeam, They are porcelain.
I had advice from another source to use an acrylic primer. Would this be of benefit?

Ultra do a primer in an orange carton 2.5l iirc called "prime it", I use that one when I use Ultra adhesive.

Re: What primer should I use for a concrete floor
It would'nt do it any harm but I've laid on screed floors with no primer and not had a problem..
If the floor is old and dusty then use a primer.

Thanks for the help !! Yes Doug I use that Ultra primer on ply, might just give Ultra tech dept a quick call but sounds as though that stuff will do it.
Thanks again!
