Hello, theres no right or wrong. Its all down to personnel taste. Some would use a color close to the tiles, others would go for white so it stands out.

Hi, Karen, I'd go for a light to mid grey - it has this quality of almost disappearing visually and help the focus stay on the tiles - that's why it is the safext colour to use in mosaics in general. And it's not hard to keep clean. There is no doubt that epoxy is the way to go, however, using a fine sanded grout like Mapei and LPT sealer on top will go a long way of keeping it clean. I wouldn't use white, it has a kind of separating effect, visually. Have fun

BAL gunmetal grey for me, I'm sure Mapei and the other big manufacturers do similar colours but I haven't used them so can't comment on them. I use this colour alot and it is a very light silvery grey, very classy and understated but gives a clean finish.
