Grout Problem
Hi All
I have a problem with the grout I did on a job a couple of months ago and just wondered if you guys could work out what is wrong.
It was a flooring job, using 400 x 400 polished porcelain tiles. The substrate was backer board underflooring heating and levelling compound. I used topp rapid set trade adhesive.
The grout I used was BAL superflex wide joint (colour ivory), the floor was then sealed with Fila Porcelain protector.
Levelling compound was left for 3 days to dry at a 6mm depth.
Adhesive was applied with a 12 notch trowel and left 24 hours before grout was applied
The protector was applied 24hrs after grouting.
The grout in the high flow areas have discoloured, the only thing I can think of is dirt has been trapped/ground into the grout.
Can anyone tell me if this is correct root cause or have I missed something?
If it is dirt etc can anyone recommend a high quality cleaner/restorer?
If its not .................help!

I don't think there is any thing wrong. Its difficult to keep light grout light .Foot traffic, dirt, dust, mud, etc.

Re: Grout Problem
hi Lee
I agree with Del, from personal experience. I used BAL pebble coloured grout on my kitchen floor and used a grout sealer/protector to keep the grout colour but it hasn't worked. over the last 2 years, it's steadily got browner and greyer in the high traffic areas, yet is perfect around the edges of the room where people don't walk.
I'm sure somebody will be able to recommend a cleaner/restorer.
