    Default floor preparation

    Hi Guys

    Looked at two bathroom floors tonight main bathroom is part floorboards part 18mm chipboard customer wants ufh and 600 x 600 porcelain ensuite bathroom is 18mm chipboard
    not sure whether to lay 12mm ply then 6mm hardie then ufh and latex then tile or take up chipboard and floorboards lay 18mm ply 6mm hardie ufh, latex and tile would appreciate any ideas as worried about floor height on the first option thanks

    Is the original floor solid and free of deflection ?

    Then why not just use Hardibacker/UFH/SLC/Tile

    As long as the sub floor is solid then it will be fine. If in any doubt though it would pay to strenthen that floor first.
