Discuss Normal bal grout in the Tile Adhesive, Grout and Substrate Preparation at TilersForums; Evening everyone just a quick question on normal bal grout can it be used without any admix? as am going to possibly get some tommorrow for my tiler to regrout ...

    Default Normal bal grout

    Evening everyone just a quick question on normal bal grout can it be used without any admix? as am going to possibly get some tommorrow for my tiler to regrout around the bath

    Yes as long as you dont need the additive. Are the walls solid? Not on wood is it ?

    Yes it can... but mainly just on ceramics.. but i prefer an anti mould grout.

    I do however like additives when doing regrouts but I think thats just down to me.

    Make sure your tiler removes old grout and not just skim over the top, otherwise you will be back to square one very soon.

    Havent found a decent flexi white, Mapei for coloured though. Never had an issue with Weber which is what I use for white grout unless power shower areas.

    I am trying a new one soon..


    Stonefix.. they now are made at their own plant and not pci any more.. their white is white white and suitable to 12mm on fine grout ..

    I did try Ardex flexi but it was too sticky and dried fast.....toooooo fast.

    GUnna use their fast set white adhesive as well.. and primer.. I do love freebies.. but it is the best to trial them.. i will report back on my findings.. but a rapid set that does 1mm to 20mm is good hey!..

    and also going to use a SLC that set in 90 mins and goes to 50mm..

    if you do need it to be flexable then BAL GT1 admix is the way to go.

    Thankyou. Just means no splashing the tiles to tommorrow. The floor tiles have keraqwik addy and wide joint flexi grout how long is it normally when you can walk on the tiles?

    Is the grout ultra colour.. it is fast setting grout but i still say to keep off over night on timber floors..
