I'd be using a 2 part flexi adhesive, (the addy with the bottle of latex additive)

I'd use a cement based addy but it needs time to cure to resist and heat...
Tile Giant would be a preference

sound,
such as keraflex?
When you say time to cure, are we just talking overnight before grouting???

No mate, usualy about 2 weeks for full curing, over night it will set/go off but will contain moisture which it requires for the curing process..
Heat will dehydrate the mixture and could weaken and possibly cause it to crack..

Kerraquick with latex plus.
No water required, pour latex into bucket and then empty bag of addy into bucket and mix.
Depending on tile size, trowel and flatness of substrate you may get 5 - 8mtrs I reckon
you can also get smaller 10kg bags of kerraquick and small tubs of latex.

Re: Is there such a thing as heat resistant tile addy?
just wanted to confirm that keraquick (plus latex) is a cement based addy? Whats the purpose for the latex with refernce to the heat?
Also as whitebeam says leave for at least 2 weeks to cure..

Re: Is there such a thing as heat resistant tile addy?
keraquick latex + is a cement based addy, the latex bumps up it's classification from an S1 adhesive to an S2 type adhesive. This greatly enhances its flexural properties.

Might be an urban myth but i was told once that sillicone was developed by the Americans for just this purpose to use in their space programme.
