primer????
Hello all,
i am about to tile my bathroom floor which is 18mm think plywood, i have been sold BAL flexible powdered adhesive. I was assured by the tile salesman that i would not need a primer but just to ensure the surface is clean.
Please can you give me a little advise, is this true, ...i have my doubts. If i do need a primer can you advise a suitable one.
cheers
Nick

Re: primer????
No just back of ply and edges.

Re: primer????
Are you going to put the ply down yet or is it already down? I prime the underside and edges. ( i use a SBR primer) then make sure its screwed down good at 300mm centres.

Re: primer????
Itis true, BAL say not to prime the face side of the ply.. but if it has got dusty etc then just prime with a 4:1 SBR mixture.

Re: primer????

Re: primer????
As long as you adding noggins to stiffen the joists for lateral expansion arounf every 300mm and to strengthen the floor... it should be solid before you lay the ply.. ten it will be fine...but saying that what tile are you using.?
