Tile with ready mix over waterproofing
After a bit of advice please.
I am in process of tiling a shower - Wall base is Quick Set Render BAL, and have used the Dunlop Waterproof from Screwfix. Render has had plenty of time to set and dry and will leave the waterproofing for a few days. I didn't have a problem until I came across a posting on YouTube where a bloke has said the using ready mix adhesive wont go off with the waterproofing. So my question is, I'm going to use Granfix Multifix adhesive (I was sold the ready mix from the tile suppliers and from what I have read is not a bad mix) with glass and metal mosaics set on mesh of 300x300mm. Will I have a problem with the set off? Or any other advice much appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldnt be using ready mixed at all over waterproofing ( tanking) best off with a polymer modified cement based adhesive.

Re: Tile with ready mix over waterproofing
Hi there, welcome to the forum.
I would not use a ready mixed adhesive for anything especially a shower area. Use a decent bagged adhesive from tile giant, if you dont want a fast setting one then get mapei's p9, it has a long bucket life and is a far superior product.

Re: Tile with ready mix over waterproofing
definitely not use a dispersion (tubbed ready mix) adhesive over your tanking, it'll never set!

Re: Tile with ready mix over waterproofing
Sorry guys would just like to add with the Adesilex P9 from Mapei, do I need any further prep work like primers or just tile away?
Also seems to be a very big difference in pricing on this, TileGiant £30.64 everyone else from £13 up to £17. Very confused is this the same adhesive? Problem I got is no one near me except for TileGiant has it. Is there a Bal alternative?
